OVERVIEW

 

We successfully launched five-term live online Beginners’ Business Chinese (BBC) courses in September 2020, January 2021, April 2021, September 2021 and January 2022 respectively and we are opening for the 6th intake in April 2022. These courses of three levels have helped dozens of Belgian business people and professionals, many of whom followed through from level 1 to level 3 over 12 months with great enthusiasm and satisfactory outcomes. We are excited for their progress in Mandarin Chinese and they are happy for achieving what they aimed for.

 

In our new term from April 19 to July 4, 2022, we are offering three stages of BBC, namely Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3.

 

All three stages of BBC will focus on verbal communications, while expanding vocabulary, improving pronunciation and other skills. The Courses also include some cultural elements and tips essential and interesting to businesspeople.

THREE STAGES OF BBC

 

Stage 1 BBC Course:


OBJECTIVES:

 

The objectives of this course include, but not limited to helping participating learners achieve:

  • Clear understanding the concepts of two fundamental systems: pinyin (Chinese phonetic symbols) and Hanzi (Chinese characters).

  • Mastering pinyin and tones.

  • Grasping 100 to 150 basic words.

  • Learning 8 to 10 basic communication topics or functions, such as:

 

  1. greeting

  2. self-introduction

  3. introducing others

  4. asking and giving nationality

  5. numbers

  6. weekdays and dates

  7. taking about size of companies (headcounts, plants)

  8. and some more

 

  • Meanwhile, grasping some basic rules of Chinese grammar.

  • Most importantly, getting a solid foundation and good momentum for further study.

 

 

 

 

 


DATES & TIMING:


From April 20 to June 22, 2022.
10 sessions in total. Each session is 90 minutes.
On Wednesdays, from 12:00 to 13:30 CEST. 

 

Stage 2 BBC Course:


OBJECTIVES:
 

The objectives of this course include, but not limited to helping participating learners achieve:

  • Improving pronunciation.

  • Grasping 100 to 150 new basic words.

  • Learning several very useful basic communication topics or functions, such as

    1.  doing small talks,

    2.  asking/giving one’s own employer and positions information,

    3.  talking about past actions/events,

    4. Asking and giving locations

    5.  talking about time,

    6.  talking about on-going activities

  • Meanwhile, grasping more basic grammar rules.

  • Most importantly, consolidating basics and maintaining forward and upward momentum in learning.

DATES & TIMING:


From April 25 to July 4, 2022. (June 6, 2022 is a public holiday)
10 sessions in total. Each session is 90 minutes.

On Mondays, from 12:00 to 13:30 CEST.

 

​Stage 3 BBC Course:


OBJECTIVES:
 

The objectives of this course include, but not limited to helping participating learners achieve:

  • Refining pronunciation.

  • Grasping 100 to 150 more basic words.

  • Learning several basic communication topics or functions, such as:

 

  1. Shopping

  2. Ordering foods

  3. Talking about routines

 

 

  1. Talking about on-going actions

  2. Talking about skills

  3. Talking about transportation means

  4. Talking about weather  etc. (Specific topics may be subject to change.)

 

  • Meanwhile, grasping more basic grammar rules.

  • Most importantly, getting a solid foundation and good momentum for further study.

From April 25 to July 4, 2022. (June 6, 2022 is a public holiday)
10 sessions in total. Each session is 90 minutes.

On Mondays, from 14:00 to 15:30 CEST.
